![]() ![]() It's been said multiple times, however if the people on this sub actually did what they said and represented a sizable perspective of the playerbase, then the type of skins we get and even champion designs would differ to what we see today. Of course, this ideology can also apply to other things such as "why so much futuristic skins and not much creative ones?" it's because the people that matter aka the ones that pay, seem to only show up for futuristic skins. They would create skinlines that they want to push forward and explore more, but due to player engagement with it, they decide not to bother anymore. In a way, you can get a good idea of how Riot operates from that case. They already had plans for other follow-up concepts like Darius and tons of accompanying promo assets created, but the skin sales were so abysmally low that it just threw all that out the window. Iirc, Riot actually wanted to make DV into its own big skinline universe. Pretty sure it's impossible at this point. See the trend here? These skins were new artistic directions for League's IP. This skinline is a literal home run, and I cannot (for the life of me) think of a time where I loved each and every one of the skins that were introduced in a new patch. ![]() Let them tap into a unique direction that's yet to take root in League. If a project manager is reading this, please, for the love of god, let your crazy talented artists explore non-futuristic directions. Sure, futuristic/cybernetic skins may sell well, but there's only so many times one can repackage and redefine a futuristic wheel before it gets, frankly, boring.įright Night is a step in a new artistic direction for League, and there's so many more non-futuristic art styles that are worth introducing to Runeterra's incredibly diverse and unique cast of characters. This skinline is a literal breath of fresh air, and it's not just because it's anti-mech. I hope that the Rioters who work on skins see the positive reception here and literally take screencaps of the positivity to take to the higher ups/project managers who are trying to figure out the direction of League's IP and skins. ![]()
